Game: Uncharted: Drakes Fortune
System: PS3
Review:
Sound: The soundeffects are great! When in a battle it really sets the mood and makes you feel like you are actually there. The voice acting in this game is one of the best ever thanks to the motion capture the chracters are actually moving there lips to the words at the right time. This also comes with a variety of dif. languages
Graphics: Alot of people/editiors reviewing this game are saying these are the best graphics they have ever seen in a game! I would have to agree with that I am playing on an SDTV(atleast till Christmas) and they it just looks beautiful! The watereffects are the best ever you actually see the reflection on the water and the ripples also when Drake or Elena get out of the water there clothes are actually wet and they have to dry off. There is some downsides though there is alot of framerate drops and it is very noticeable but doesnt affect the gameplay
Storyline: Nathan Drake finds out that he is somehow a descedent of the legendary Sir Francis Drake, and sets out on a quest to find his treasure he doesnt know what it is until he gets to the island I will leave that up to you to find out. Overall Drake is your normal average Joe guy. Elena who is a reporter tags along to try and get the big scope and one of the biggest stories ever she is a bit skeptical of Drake being Francis Drakes relative since it was said the he was not married. Drake finds Sir Francsis' diray in the middle of the paciffic ocean which contains a map on how to get to the treasure. Along the way they meet pirates hired by a guy named Roman who wants money that a guy named Sully (Drakes Friend) owes him and Sully tipped him off that they were onto something big. So Roman wants it all for himself. Overall the storyline pulls you in and doesnt let you go until you finish it is that good but it really isnt that orginal.
Gameplay and Replayabiltiy: The game play is pure fun and VERY addictive although there isn't alot of enimes and most of them all look the same the AI is pretty smart and makes you think twice be4 poking out of your cover and shotting at them. The duck and cover starategy is really the main gameplay element of Uncharted. There is also about 1-9 guns in the game which isnt that bad. Although Uncharted is short (I already beat it took me 9 hrs* I know I have know life I beat it in 1 playthrough but the game is just so good!!!!) there is alot of unlockables and achivements my fav. unlockable is the costumes which is where you can change the way Drake looks(you can change him into Elena, or the Pirates, or Sully AND Roman). After that there is really no other reason to play it.(I know I will though this isnt 1 of those games I am trading in)
Overall: Uncharted is really the PS3's first AAA and must have EXCLUSIVE title for this yr it is just perfect MUST OWN for all PS3 OWNERS!
Score: 9.5/10

This game is a must if you own a PS3. The Graphics are some of the best I have seen on the PS3. I thought for a moment the game ran at 1080p, until I looked on the back of the case. The story is also very good. There were a few times where it got kinda difficult trying to get through some scenes, because the AI is so good, and it is hard to hide.
A True Masterpiece

Its not often that I was go so far as to call a game a masterpiece. I have only felt that way about a few games in my many years of gaming. When you first start up Uncharted you know you’re in for an adventure. This game feels so much like an Indiana Jones movie it’s amazing, it’s the first good game not counting Tomb Raider, which has that Indiana Jones feel to it. I purchased my PS3 and the first game I got for it was Uncharted, I started it up go to the first cut scene and could not believe how amazing it looked, it was so realistic. The cut scene then ended leading into the game which looked just as good, a family member walked downstairs and asked what I was watching on TV thinking it was a movie and when I told them it was my new game they were in shock. But graphics are not everything, though I think this game does have the best graphics of any game I have ever played. The game play is great; the story is so much fun to play through. It never gets old; it really got my attention to the point that I was having an extremely hard time putting down the controller because I wanted to know what was going to happen next. This is a true next-gen game and we are sure to see many more like it in the near future from the PS3.
A treasure or lost at sea?

When I first heard the storyline of Uncharted : Drake's Fortune, I couldn’t help but wonder at the intelligence of creating a game based on the lost fortune of moldy historical figure Sir Francis Drake. For those that don't know, Drake was an English privateer and slave trader in the late 1500's, honored at home and feared in Spain. As if National Treasure wasn't bad enough.
However, once the story gets going it’s hard to avoid getting wrapped up in this exciting tale. You take the helm as Nathan Drake, a purported relative of Drake Sr. With typical fearless aplomb, Nathan sets a course to find treasure that will make him very wealthy. Along with his slimy friend Sullie and his soon-to-be-girlfriend and part time Barbie doll Elena, Nathan and Co. do an extraordinary job of bringing their world to life.
Without revealing too much of the story, it proves extremely engrossing, and aside from an unnecessarily.. supernatural.. twist near the end, the story is exciting.
That’s not to say that the game isn't without its faults. I couldn't help but wonder why I had to spend so much time solving puzzles and navigating traps to simply turn the corner and find hordes of bad guys waiting there to shoot me. What's the fun of solving ancient puzzles and unlocking crusty old doors if your enemies beat you to the punch in every case? For every sense of wonderment that you feel in the game at exploring something unseen, there’s a resulting sense of disappointment at finding your nemesis standing there already.
But the worst problem with the game, from my perspective, is the sameness of the game. This stems from a lack of your traditional "boss-fights", those difficult and dangerous battles that comprise your memory from most of the games in your past, from Metroid to R-Type, the bosses are what you remember more than the brainless zombies you wade through to get there. With the exception of the ending there’s very little break in the monotony of the shootouts. Sure, you can shoot them 100 different ways, with a number of different guns, but they are ultimately alike.
These criticisms should be taken with a grain of salt, however, as the real litmus test of a good game, 'is it fun', is clearly and undoubtedly YES. This game truly held me enthralled all the way through. From the exciting gunfights to the cheesy story, this game grabbed me and wouldn't let go until the closing credits. Even then I found myself wistfully loading the game on a higher difficulty setting, just to relive some of that magic that I felt.
The graphics are of an equally high quality, setting a standard for realism and immersiveness on the Playstation 3. Sometimes you feel like you're playing a video game, but most of the time you feel like you're watching a movie, and that says a lot.
I highly recommend that any Playstation 3 owners should also own this game.

Drake's Fortune is excellent. The game isn't extremely long but it will entertain you for about 15 hours. The only bad side that I found in the game was that enemies can withstand a large number of bullets but other than that the easy puzzles and the good storyline make for an excellent game. The graphics are amazing. This is definitely a must play.
A Charted Fortune

This game is a must have for all PS3 owners. This game combines the elements of an action-shooter with platforming, and they did a good job of it. Throughout the game you are surrounded by a beautiful, lush, vibrant jungle it really shows the PS3's capabilities. The characters are very well developed and interesting. The characters seem very real. Sadly, this game has its flaws, just like every game. The game is too short. When the credits roll you will still be wanting more, and when its over there isn't much to do. The replay value is very low. Lastly the story. The story was brilliant, and they tied everything up amazingly, but for me there seemed to be an emptiness. Despite those small problems this is still a great a game that any PS3 owner should have. Uncharted: Drake's Fortune is definately a Fortune to find.

I just finished up Uncharted today and up until this point I was wondering why I bought a Playstation 3. Uncharted has to be one of the best games that I have played in a long time. The graphics were top notch being beat only by Metal Gear Solid 4. The story line and cut scenes made you not want to put down the controller. The controls were easy to use and if you haven't played this game pick it up. Only complaint about the game was that it was only 10 hours long. Add about 2 hours if you are going to try and find all the treasures without a guide. I only found less than half. I hope they are making another one of these games.
