Starfox: Assault Review

Presentation
A great presentation, free of bugs (other than the aparoids, sorry about the corny joke) and glitches. The game runs smoothly in most parts, The Menu's are very cool and stylized. In my experience I have seen only one bug, very small but a bug nonetheless, The bug was in level 10 there is a part where the game lags for less than a second, but other than that the game is completely smooth.

Graphics
The graphics in this game are very good, an advancement over the earlier “Starfox Adventures”. Screenshots don't do the game justice, it looks great when playing. This game also has the option to use progressive scan mode which enhances the graphics quite a bit. The game has a number of cut scenes which look absolutely magnificent. Even the normal game play looks quite good with a variety of places from space to a small forest to a large city. The vehicles in this game are very slick and look magnificent especially in the cut scenes, The reflection off the metal from the ships makes them look great. I’d say this is one of the best games out on Gamecube right now in terms of Graphics.

Sound
The sound in this game isn’t amazing but the music always matches the scene from a tense space battle to a sad cut scene. Also many of the character’s voices have changed for the most part the voice acting is very good the only thing that annoyed me was Leon’s new voice it’s to high pitched for a cold-blooded assassin, his old N64 voice was better But other than that the Voice acting is actually very good.

Game Play/Replay Value
This game is very good in these terms. The game has ten levels. each level usually consists of 2 or 3 sections. The levels are decent in length but still they aren’t as long as everyone would’ve wanted, but even though there are only ten levels the game is still very fun. The Arwing missions are very good while the on land missions aren’t completely perfect, but even still the land missions I find very exiting because your weapons aren’t usually as powerful and you can go in any direction you want. There are many weapons you can use ranging from a normal blaster to a gattling gun. Me personally I’ve beaten the game about three or four times now, but even though the game may be short it has a great replay value. The game has three difficulties in the story mode: bronze, silver, and gold. Each is harder than the last. Also there is a survival mode which challenges you to beat the game in one run without saving or anything. Also in every level there are medals, depending on which difficulty you are doing the hit requirements will be different. As well as the bronze, silver, and gold medals there are also ally medals which you must earn in every level by keeping your allies alive. The last thing there is that contributes to the replay value is there are five S-Flags in every level. If you get all of the

Star Fox assault is by far the best. The story mode is lots of fun and the graphics are amazing! This story mode is even fun to play over and over again. For this star fox you get to play in three different ways, pilot, land master, and the arwing. Trust me this game takes skill especially the final boss. I give it a 5 out of 5.
Not A Big Star Fox fan, But I Liked This Game

Star Fox is probably the most under advertised Nintendo series, besides a few other titles. Anyways, this is the latest CONSOLE installment for the Star Fox series and probably the best one. Despite being very short, I can list at least one thing thats better then the game before it, YOU ACTUALLY FLY IN SPACE!!! Many people liked Adventures, but to true Star Fox pilots, it was a huge debacle. This game has about 2 missions out of the ship, but it is amazing when you get out, like it's Star Wars Battlefront.
Graphics 10/10
Talking about Gamecube graphics on the internet can cause a lot of commotion, such as; "Teh grephics ere worse then a pootato!1337!!" or "OMG, GC Is Likes tey NOOBier soN of the Smocgled G?!" But here, in this review there is none of that. The game's graphics are superb, shiny, spectacular, shiny, and altogether beautiful.
Story 6/10
Meh, is all I can say. The games story is O.K. but nothing superb, pretty much a war film, mixed with an "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" film.
Now, as the non gameplay guy, all I'm gonna say is, Good gameplay.
In my suggestion: Rent this game but for awesome multiplayer Buy it. You can pick it up for a cheap price on eBay and an even cheaper price here.
Well it's no Starfox 64, but it's alrite.

Starfox Assault quietly invaded the Gamecube with the promise of a more traditional Starfox style than the previous Starfox in the Cube. Starfox Assault takes the series back to its roots by focusing on the shooting aspect rather than trying to be a weird Zelda clone in space.
Starfox Assault takes our favorite team of space animals through diferent planets... by air... and by foot. That's right. Besides the air and landmaster missions, you'll have on foot missions as well. Which pretty much all consist of go there, shoot this, repeat.
Assault is not a bad game at all. It has an amazing orchestrated soundtrack, awesome graphics, and a charming cast. Plus its always fun to shoot stuff randomly. And its definitely more of a taste of real Starfox than Starfox Adventures.
However its is regarded that Starfox 64 is the best in the series, and Assault ditched lots of things that made 64 great, such as alternate routes, clever stage design, hilarious quotes, and.. well.. and good controls. the on foot mission concept is great. I always loved the idea to have Fox get out of the Arwing ever since I saw him in the original Super Smash Bros... however the missions themselves on this game are just lame and not entertaining... and can end up being frustrating for the wrong reasons. Also, instead of having multiple routes possible depending on what you did on certain stages, there's just one fixed path all the time.
In the end, Starfox Assault is fun and its cool, has excellent music and graphics. It may to live up to Starfox 64's standards, but if you can get over that then you might enjoy this game for what it is.

this game just never gets old. The 1 player is very fun along with the 2 player. there is a great selection of weapons to choose from and there are some really cool ships that you can fly in like the landmaster and the r wing. The only reason I would buy this game is because you have to zoom in to use the sniper rifle. What I also dont like about this game is the ships have a huge advantage over the players who dont have a ship. Overall this is a great game that is worth getting.
Holy shiz

This is a next gen game. Like RE4, the amount of enemies on-screen, action, sound effects, and graphics almost melt the wimpy little Ati-based wii and gamecube. A must have, neo-classic
