Presentation
The presentation of the game is very good but very simple but it does not need much complexity. It is a basic menu you just scroll side to side but it is somewhat fun when using the Bongos. The game doesn’t freeze up like some games do.
9/10
Graphics
The game has smooth graphics, but that doesn’t really matter because it’s not like a normal game. But nonetheless the graphics are quite good. The Menus are smooth and the characters look great.
8/10
Sound
The music in this game is quite good but some of the Music is kind of weird. The rock and most of the Jazz songs are pretty good and go very well with the Bongos, but there are some songs I have no idea what they were thinking when they put them in.
7/10
Game Play/Replay Value
With many fun modes like street performances, concerts, and battles this game is really fun. If you use the DK bongos it is truly amazing. If you don’t have the Bongos its still fun but you’re missing part of the experience. The game has four major commands: Right Bongo, Left Bongo, Both Bongos, and Clap. They may seem easy but the game is quite challenging and you can be hooked very easily (I would know). The replay is great you can play this game over and over trying to get a Gold DK on every song, and even if you have everything memorized there’s a beat mix mode which changes everything and has unlimited possibilities that will keep you playing.
10/10
Multiplayer
The multiplayer is great especially if every person has a set of bongos, again if you don’t have ANY bongos you’re missing a part of the experience. Even if you have only one set of Bongos you can play a share mode where you and a partner will team up, one with the clapping and the other with the drums. The multiplayer really shines when you have four players though, with things like playing in a quartet trying to synch, or see who can keep a rhythm the longest the multiplayer is truly amazing.
10/10
Overall
This is a great game I would recommend to anyone. And at the price is worth getting even with the Bongos. So if you have a chance check out this game.
8/10- A great game
