do your selft a favor and buy this game; it does everything write and keeps giving you more; it has so much to do in it and if you beat it .. you will just want to go back in and kick more butt and change the way you built your characterl be good or evil even. bioware really put alot in this game. the same people who did Knights of the old republic. if you buy this and enjoyed it then the same will go for any star wars fan or even a non star wars fan if you buy Knights of the old republic.

Great rpg from the makers of KOTOR. One of my favorite games. Combat is much better than KOTOR to boot!

Bad Things:
There is a lot of talking during the game.
Doesn't have a lot of action and when you get into the action, it ends quickly.
You can't swing your sword(s) if you are not in battle, you can't kill people in the streets and you can kill pretty easily your foes.
It shows you a map, but you can only go to three places. You can return to your previous places but you don't have extra stuff for going back.
You have a lot of fighting styles but you have to develope a few and then use them in the rest of the game. The rest of the styles are just a waste of space.
Cheesy ending.

Good things:
The game shows you with different choices from were your aligment chance. Think in Fable. The actions start with a dialogue and then it moves to the actual action.
The game has a good fight system, it's a shame that you can't use it a lot. In the fighting system you can use different martial art styles and different weapon styles. The styles have different strenghts and weaknesess.
Good story and good learnings.

Veredict:
Buy the game, play it and swap it. I you like to play games with constant action I recomend Fable and Sudeki, then if you have time play this one. It's not pretty good but it's not pretty bad. I was expecting more from this game.

If you have the limited edition go an look my review there. Thanks.

I tell ya, BioWare just knows how to make good, engrossing games. They start by building an exciting world (which was pretty much handled for them with KOTOR), then they fill it with interesting characters, and then write a great story to follow that has plenty of twists and turns and options for whether you choose a "good" or "evil" path. First of all, this is a role playing game. If you're looking for non-stop, mindless action, it isn't here. Bioware is old school when it comes to some RPG tenets, and one of those is "there's no need to fight anyone unless you are in 'battle-mode'". There's not a single turn-based game that allows you to kill/destroy everything in site, and even though the battle in Jade Empire is real-time, don't expect to be beating up people on the street for extra cash. Not gonna happen. Once you do enter "battle-mode" though, things are very smooth, with several combat options including magic, weapons, and open hand "styles" You learn these different "styles" throughout the game, and then can combine them during combat to pull off different combos, or simply counter whatever style an opponent may be using. There are also instances where a certain foe may be immune to a certain style. The story here is a very good one and you can either be a noble hero, or an iron fisted vigilante. Either way guarantees a good time. If you like kung-fu flicks or role-playing games, you can't go wrong here. If you're looking for a straight action game, you're not going to find it here.
