Hidden Vortigaunt Cave

In Half-Life 2, chapter Water Hazard, find a sewer tunnel about 5 feet off the ground with a open gate. Back up the air boat with the fan facing the wall. Make sure you have full health or close to it. Now jump onto the air boat and squeeze through the gate. Turn on the flash light and lookout for the hazardous water. Get into run mode and run through the water. Far into the tunnel on the left is a secret vortigaunt cave which unlocks the achievement Vorticough.

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption is finally here making the launch of the Wii feel complete. Gamers around the world have been patiently waiting for Retro Studios to release the final installment of the Prime series, and grace their not-yet-fully-tested console. For those of you naysayers out there that thought the Wii was incapable of being cool, you have been proven wrong. Metroid Prime 3: Corruption may not be wholly original, but the control scheme sets the standard for first person shooters for ALL consoles. The graphics are the best we've seen on the Wii, the sounds are classic, and the boss battles are everything you'd expect from a Metroid title. If you're tired of creating Miis, you've re-beaten all the Zelda games on the Virtual Console, and want a single player challenge to accompany the fine collection of Wii party titles, Samus and her fellow hunters will not disappoint. Metroid Prime 3 : Corruption will have you, Samus Aran, team up with fellow bounty hunters to foil the latest dastardly attempt by the Space Pirates against the Galactic Federation. This time a virus has been spread that has attacked Federation technology. The corruption of computer systems and the compromising of key networks has plunged the Federation into chaos. Luckily for us, this means a galaxy-spanning adventure through amazing alien worlds. The environments, creatures, and boss battles are all masterfully created. The title is truly entertaining from beginning to end. Cruising around the worlds is great, but taking on the honchos and besting them while utilizing all your available skills is a thing of beauty. You will have to use all of Samus' powers and abilities in coordinated combination, often in inventive ways. If you use the abilities harmoniously, you should have no problems advancing past the mega foes she'll face.iouiouiouio

GlaDos Part Locations

This hint may contain spoilers!

In the final level when you have to dismantle GlaDos, the locations for her three pieces are: 1. Towards the fire pit to the left on top of the pipes. 2. On a platform attached to GlaDos' upper half of machinery. 3. Levitating in the air near where you entered.

I had a bit of trouble finding them and ended up having to repeat the level a couple of times.

P.S. To get the piece that's levitating, you'll need the "Portal Placement Anywhere Cheat," otherwise you'll have to do it the hard way. Make a portal above the pipe nearest to the area where the piece is levitating. Make a second portal on the wall and hop onto the pipe. Aim correctly and either land on the piece or fall through the green beam that's keeping it levitating.

SPOLIER! SPOILER! SPOILER!

Tips for Spy

Hint by HDfreak on January 16, 2008  |  report this hint

1. Don't pick a stupid disguise. If the enemy has no Snipers, you probably shouldn't disguise yourself as one.
2. Never disguise yourself as a Scout. You'll run slower than a real Scout would, and any smart enemy will see that as a dead giveaway and blow you apart.
3. Never disguise yourself as a Medic. You won't have an uber-charge meter and, again, any smart enemy will see that and kill you.
4. Avoid disguising yourself as the slower classes like Heavies and Soldiers. A Pyro, Engineer, Sniper, or Demoman is a much better disguise, as it allows you to move around a lot quicker.
5. Don't go into places that your disguised class would be unlikely to go. For example, a Sniper will rarely be in the basement on 2Fort, and a Pyro will rarely hang out on the battlements. Most players you play against may not pick up on this, but it's better to be cautious.
6. It is possible to backstab an Engineer and then sap his sentry gun, but only if the gun isn't facing you. You have to swap weapons very quickly to do so, though, and practice makes perfect.
7. Heavies and Soldiers are your friends. They are easy backstab targets.
8. Don't backstab someone when other people are watching. This seems obvious, but based on my last few days playing, it apparently is not.
9. Learn to use your cloak. It can let you slip past an enemy line unnoticed, where you can then uncloak and walk around like you are one of them.
10. Don't uncloak when enemies are watching. Again, this seems obvious, but I guess it's not. Sometimes, this naturally can't be avoided, but don't be stupid and do it when it can be.
11. If you see an Engineer building a sentry gun, wait until he goes to get metal before you sap it, wait a few feet away, and then stab his ass when he goes to kill the sapper.
12. On command point maps, try to slip by the enemy sometimes and make your way to the next point. Often times, you can take it before they are able to retaliate after losing the previous point.
13. Learn the maps. Most of them have tons of little nooks a crannies for Spies to hide in, or alternate paths to make maneuvering in behind the enemy that much easier.
14. STAY AWAY FROM PYROS! They will kill you every time, and they move quickly, making them tough to cleanly backstab.
15. If an enemy shoots you to Spy-check, your best bet is generally to let them. Many times, they will shoot you, see that you don't run, and stop. Of course, just as often, they'll shoot you three or four times and you'll die, but this will likely happen if you run too. If you are near a corner, however, sometimes it pays to retreat and go invisible.

Tips for Snipers

Hint by HDfreak on January 16, 2008  |  report this hint

1. Your primary weapon is very useful from a distance, but not so great up close. Find a spot far away from the action and pick off enemies from there.
2. If an enemy gets close, your best bet is to run. If you don't think that will work, use your machine pistol. It packs a nice punch if you are accurate with it.
3. Your machete is your best weapon for taking out Spies. It will down them quickly and efficiently.
4. Go for the head shot. It will kill most classes instantly, and a fully-charged one is totally lethal.
5. If you shoot an enemy but don't kill them, don't be afraid to finish them off with the machine pistol or machete from time to time. Most classes won't anticipate a brave Sniper, so you can usually sneak up on them after they pass you.
6. Don't stay in one spot for very long, especially if you're in enemy territory. The kill-cam will give your position away after every kill, and a smart enemy will check there after he respawns.
7. If you're getting dominated by an enemy Sniper, be willing to switch classes. There will always be people that are just better than you, and going up against them will just waste your time.
8. If you're getting dominated by an enemy Sniper, don't switch to a Spy just to backstab them once, and then go straight back to sniping. Please, just don't do it. It's stupid and petty, and they'll just dominate you again as soon as you switch back.
9. Watch your back. While zoomed in, you're an easy target for Spies, and they will relish the chance for a free backstab. Similarly, other classes can sneak up on you and melee you to death, and that's just embarrassing.
10. If an Engineer builds a sentry in your line of sight, shoot the Engineer first, then the sentry (unless it's a level one, in which case you can take it out with one fully-charged shot). Otherwise, they will just continue to repair it while you shoot it, and you will get nowhere.
11. You are not a power class. Your role should be as defensive support, not front-line offense. Unless, that is, you want to die. If that's the case, by all means, go on the offensive.

Tips for Medics

Hint by HDfreak on January 16, 2008  |  report this hint

1. Your primary goal is to heal your teammates! Don't try to run in and be an offensive powerhouse by yourself.
2. Don't just wait in the spawn for a Heavy or Soldier to respawn after death. Run out and heal a nearby teammate like an Engineer while you wait. This will build up your uber-charge meter.
3. Only use the uber-charge in two situations. Either when you are about to die, or when your teammate tells you to.
4. Don't heal friendly Spies! This is a dead giveaway to the other team that they are an enemy.
5. If the person you are healing dies, the best tactic is usually to cut and run. However, if you're sure the enemy that killed your teammate is very hurt, you can probably take them out with your syringe gun.
6. Your syringe gun doesn't have much range, but it is pretty powerful, and can put a hurting on stronger classes if you move around constantly so that they can't hit you.
7. Your bone saw gets a ridiculous number of critical hits, so it can be used to level other weak classes quickly and efficiently, but shouldn't be used as a primary offensive tool.
8. As a Medic, your goal while healing teammates should be to watch their back. Keep an eye out for suspicious teammates that may be Spies, and inform the person you are healing if you think a Spy is sneaking up behind them for a backstab.
9. Don't be afraid to run away from fights. You're a support class, not Rambo.
