Beating General RAAM

Hint by nathan45133 on May 13, 2007  |  report this hint

To beat general RAAM you SHOULD USE these items :

- Sniper Rifle
- Torgue Bow
- Grenades

When i played him on Insane i used the Torgue and the sniper rifle. Fire the Torgue at General RAAM and make it stick to him, it'll remove the bats that are "shielding" him, and this is the perfect time to get "active reload" on your sniper and shoot him in the head. If you repeat these steps you will eventually beat general RAAM.
Grenades work well too, but you'll need to throw the grenade under RAAM to make the bats fly Away.

The way i've just told you to beat General RAAM is the easiest in my opinion. GOOD LUCK =)

General RAAM

Hint by eddie360 on April 06, 2007  |  report this hint

Make sure you get these wepons:

1.Lancer (should have)
2.Torque Bow

Make Sure you pick up ammo too.
But mostly use (2) first then use (1) after a couple of trys it should work. Another good wepon is the BOOMSHOT if you get this wepon and hold it till RAAM he will get weaker than the (1) and (2) guns combined.

When to return fire

Hint by hardcore28 on April 01, 2007  |  report this hint

When to return fire? HMMM thats a good question. Wait till the locusts stop firing, then return fire. Also in the area where you split paths and when you reform again, there is a troika with 2 guys protecting it, one next to it and 1 on the room high above, and a spotter. After killing the spotter, shoot at the guy in the room high above, Then the next thing you should do is jump the cover into the first line of sacks or whatever they're called. Then wait until the troika turns and shoots to the way right of you. This is a good time to take aim. Then go back to hiding position. When he faces to the right of u again, shoot at him. It takes like 5 times to finally beat him if you're a pro, 10 times for a rookie

hardcore28

Don't Get Killed

Hint by hardcore28 on April 01, 2007  |  report this hint

To prevent getting killed, just take cover and return fire and then moving to another location then returning more fire. That way you will only get shot once and have time to rehabilitate your health. This is especially useful in the prison break mission.

Clogging up a doorway

Hint by Highsintellect on June 25, 2007  |  report this hint

Use the following trick while playing in two player mode and you reach a difficult part with a doorway. Have one player die in the doorway. This will create a block that the Locust cannot get past. They will usually line up behind your dead partner, allowing you a safe zone to easily pick them off. Once it is clear, just revive your partner and move on.

Torque Bow trick

Hint by Charlymurphy on July 05, 2007  |  report this hint

When using the Torque Bow, get in cover and pull the trigger as if to blind fire it, then just push aim to look up and the bow will be completely charged and you haven't left yourself vulnerable by charging it, this trick is especially usefull when fighting RAAM.

cloose

faster relode

Hint by cloose on July 08, 2007  |  report this hint

When you press RB to reload, there will be a clear bar with a small white segment somewhere along it. It will appear where your bullets used to be. There will also be a smaller white bar moving across the clear bar. As soon as the white bare gets inside the white segment, press RB again. This will reload your weapon much faster, and if timed just perfectly, will give your gun an extra boost in fire power. However, if you do not time it correctly, the clear bar will become red and it will take even longer to reload than if you had not attempted it.

General RAAM

Hint by XxM4RKSM4NxX on July 26, 2007  |  report this hint

An easy way to beat General RAAM on any difficulty, is to play co-op with a friend. You both should have some Frag Grenades, Torque Bows, and Longshot Sniper Rifles. Both of you take cover behind the rock that is in front of you. Then, both of you just keep shooting General RAAM with the Torque Bow until he dies. If he doesn't die from the Torque Bows, just simply keep sniping him with the Longshot. The Torque Bows take his life down fast and even kill him at times. This trick is also an easy way to get your "A Dish Best Served Cold" achievement.

Easy Sniping

Hint by XxM4RKSM4NxX on August 05, 2007  |  report this hint

It is way easier to use the Longshot Sniper Rifle if you are standing still. If you move around, the shot will go crazy. Also, if an opponent is running, just shoot where he is a little ahead of him and you are more likely to hit him. I am not the greatest sniper in this game, but I know these tips may come in handy to some of you people who want to snipe better.

Hint by sicipio on May 20, 2008  |  report this hint

To beat ram on insane is to get the tourqe bow and shot all ur shots and in between use the snub to do some minor damage but when he gets right up behind the barrier dont run, dont get nervous, pull out the shotty and blast away and drop a frag or two, and its a sure thing he will die if he dosent down u, there is no possible way for him to survive with 4 frags over 40 shottys, and tourqe he just cant make it. also u should just blind fire all this cause the tourqe has a lazer and the shotgun, well he should be close enogh to just fire and hit.

fun ways to kill in gridlock

Hint by nick_ftw on August 28, 2007  |  report this hint

in the gridlock level during multiplayer. get your shotgun out and if you start out on the side with the two cars making a sort of V get behind one of them and wait for your enemy to come look for you.(this works best if you use the general of the COG team, he croutches the lowest).also no matter which spot you start on you can always have some fun at the barriers. when you leave your spawn point the barriers are either on your left or right (depending on whioch place you start from) hide behind the first barrier and wait for your friend. when they come around the corner throw a smoke but dont give away your spot. when they come running in after the smoke clears you are clear to open fire with either the shotgun or pistol(unless you use the chiansaw more than other weapons. another fun game in gridlock is to switch all weapons with the longshot(sniper rifle) and just have a shoot out.
in the moselium go inside there is a huge open space there have your friend go on one side and you on the other upstairs. now hide behind the cabnet on the ground and just try to kill each other. when one of you kills the other the killer shouldnt just run up and curbstomp them or shoot or melle let then get back up(button mash A to get up way faster) when that person gets back up just be out of the way and keep fightin like that for the 10 minutes per match you have.there are trenches for you to fight in downstairs as well.

Host Weapons

Hint by Illtactics320 on August 31, 2007  |  report this hint

This is kind of like a cheat to get host weapons it's not hard it is actually very very simple. This is what you do get your pistol out waste about two shots out of it then switch to either your lancer or shotgun and right when your in the process of switching to one of those weapons you tap the RB button once to reload. When you get to the selected weapon you wanted to switch to that makes it reload the whole clip and you will have a host weapon. This works for every single weapon in the game except the pistol it's self. You can only get the host weapon for one clip then you have to do the same thing again.

Oh yes

To beat general RAAM you SHOULD USE these items :

- Sniper Rifle
- Torgue Bow
- Grenades

When i played him on Insane i used the Torgue and the sniper rifle. Fire the Torgue at General RAAM and make it stick to him, it'll remove the bats that are "shielding" him, and this is the perfect time to get "active reload" on your sniper and shoot him in the head. If you repeat these steps you will eventually beat general RAAM.

When you have the sniper it is always best to aim high. So if you can't get that headshot aim at least at the upper body. Also if you get the active reload downing is almost guarentined if you hit them around or above the chest. Always get the active with the Sniper, Lancer, Pistol, and shotgun.

5 Ways to Kill That Chainsawer

Hint by Trexmaster on September 24, 2007  |  report this hint

1.Obviously, take out your Gnasher and try not to hit him TOO close, cause sometimes waiting too long may result in death oo 2.Get out your own lancer, shoot the guy and saw him first >:D 3.If a chainsawer is getting in close, roll away and take out your lancer, or pistol *Whatever is on stock that is decent in medium range* 4.To just plain avoid this problem, if you notice someone chainsawing alot, or just know they do it often, make sure you get a sniper rifle-unless they are a total retard or come from behind, your safe. 5. Last tip, if one of these suckers is getting your friend, wait until RIGHT after the death cinematic is done, then gracefully blow the hell out of him-Longrange:Sniper Rifle MediumRange:Gnasher/Frag Grenades ShortRange:Lancer/Frag Grenades Point Blank:Gnasher/Chainsaw *Note short range does not mean in chainsawing distance, but close enough for an easy grenade tag*

5 Things to Avoid...Seriously

Hint by Trexmaster on September 24, 2007  |  report this hint

1.Trying to fight a sniper with your lancer, worst-mistake-EVER 2.When on the Canals map, be careful if rushing for the Sniper Rifle, cause your not the ONLY one trying to get one, there are TWO on the map, on two bridges, and if your not quick enough the other player may already have his sights on your head before you even get there O_O. 3.Wasting ammo on someone who is chainsawing your buddy, sorry- once he starts getting chopped hes done for- then onces hes tiny bits THEN unleash your fury on em. 4.Going after an enemy one man at a time, its like a defense game except your all gonna die one by one if you just come at him without some sort of stratgey, seriously its not that hard for one man to take out an entire team with the right tools. 5.The Last and Most Important thing never to do..I think...Is NEVER...EVER...Chainsaw a tagger who is right next to his victim, and warn your other buddies not to go give him a goodbye....Belive me it sucks.

Well in Gears of War this is a pretty realistic game that means you cant just run out and blow the crap out of the enemy like fricken Rambo you have to take cover and only take the shot when your sure you can hit the target and if your surounded just blind fire this wont get you hurt but will screw your accuracy over and also if your playin co-op make sure to help your buddy out while he's dyeing hope this helps

Down them fast!

Hint by jicrichton on November 01, 2007  |  report this hint

I have played tons of Gears multiplayer and have experimented with taking down the enemy fast. Most games want you to hit the enemy in the head for a fast take down but Gears appears to reward the knees as well. In multiplayer matches I get guys calling me a cheater and I tell them, "Shoot them in the knees", and they think I am kidding. Try it out and I think you will agree.

Let Them Bleed!

Hint by jicrichton on November 01, 2007  |  report this hint

When playing Gears of War Annex multiplayer it is not always best to go for the kill. If you have downed an enemy, and their buddies are not around to pick them up, don't finish them off. They will bleed while you capture the zone and you will be getting points before they die. If they are downed inside the zone, you will need to kill them off unless there is more than one of you. This is because they cancel out your presence in the zone.

yesss on October 28, 2007 Metroid Prime 3: Corruption is finally here making the launch of the Wii feel complete. Gamers around the world have been patiently waiting for Retro Studios to release the final installment of the Prime series, and grace their not-yet-fully-tested console. For those of you naysayers out there that thought the Wii was incapable of being cool, you have been proven wrong. Metroid Prime 3: Corruption may not be wholly original, but the control scheme sets the standard for first person shooters for ALL consoles. The graphics are the best we've seen on the Wii, the sounds are classic, and the boss battles are everything you'd expect from a Metroid title. If you're tired of creating Miis, you've re-beaten all the Zelda games on the Virtual Console, and want a single player challenge to accompany the fine collection of Wii party titles, Samus and her fellow hunters will not disappoint. Metroid Prime 3 : Corruption will have you, Samus Aran, team up with fellow bounty hunters to foil the latest dastardly attempt by the Space Pirates against the Galactic Federation. This time a virus has been spread that has attacked Federation technology. The corruption of computer systems and the compromising of key networks has plunged the Federation into chaos. Luckily for us, this means a galaxy-spanning adventure through amazing alien worlds. The environments, creatures, and boss battles are all masterfully created. The title is truly entertaining from beginning to end. Cruising around the worlds is great, but taking on the honchos and besting them while utilizing all your available skills is a thing of beauty. You will have to use all of Samus' powers and abilities in coordinated combination, often in inventive ways. If you use the abilities harmoniously, you should have no problems advancing past the mega foes she'll face.iouiouiouio

Easy Beserker Win

Hint by clpotatoe on November 08, 2007  |  report this hint

The easiest way ever to kill a Berserker is to tag him with a grenade, but you CAN NOT tag him at any given time. First off you have to get her outside as usual, but instead of hitting him twice with the full blast of the Hammer of Dawn(or three times in Insane mode), you can Hit him for about 2 seconds with the Hammer of Dawn(until he turns red) and then run up to him with a grenade in hand a tag him with it(B-button AKA Melee), then just Dodge roll, roadie run, or walk the hell out of there. This should make quick work of the Berserker

Clusterbomb Achievement.

Hint by xxicarlosixx on May 18, 2008  |  report this hint

The easiest way to get this achievement is to start the prison level. Save your grenades until you get to the part when the locust start to cut through the door and use one of these methods.
_______________________________________

The first way is to blindly throw the nade when it blows up and you can see them running in, try to cover the doorway if you can. The second way is to stand kinda back and start to swing the grenade and throw it just a second before the door blows up, hopefully it will get em' all, remember to throw a grenade at your feet to repeat. The third way is to stand near the door before it blows up,and rush to doorway after it blows up and tag the first one that runs up with the nade and follow him out. Hopefully he will run back down to his friends and blow them all up, including you if you followed him down so you can quickly rinse and repeat.
_______________________________________

The first method isnt the best but if you do it right it gets the job done. The second method is the most common way people do it but i think this one relys alot on luck, alot of the times it didn't kill them. The third method works the most i've seen, and seems to be the quickest if you do it right, you kinda need to go right in front of the doorway when the door explodes and tag the guy running up and if you are in the doorway he will have to run back down and hopefully it will explode when he running by his comrades, and if you are following him it will kill you too so you can quickly repeat.

SuperFLYLegend

Legs!

Hint by SuperFLYLegend on November 30, 2007  |  report this hint

Marcus! Go for the legs! The best way to take down the tough locusts on campaign mode in Gears of War is to shoot them in the lower torso/legs. They drop very easy and make some of the tougher spots in the game easier to swallow.

Defeating General Raam

Hint by okidoki on December 05, 2007  |  report this hint

Once you reach General Raam at the end of the last Act, he will have a Gatlin type gun and will be surrounded by the bird locust. There will also be flying locusts attacking from the side of the train (ignore them). You can only damage General Raam when the bird locusts leave him and go after you. Stay in the light or the birds can kill you. When you start fighting him, hide behind the first rectangular block that is directly in front of the doors you came from. He will start walking towards you and shoot. When the birds leave him, start shooting. After a while he will get directly in front of where you are hiding. When he does, run around him and hide on the other side of the platform. Stay in the light as you run. Hide, then continue shooting him until he dies.

Get General Ramm off the Gatlin gun. When he starts walking towards you, let Dominic get his attention. Then, run towards the Gatlin gun and shoot him with it. This should kill him in seconds. This is easier in Co-Op mode.

If you are having trouble accessing the second Troika-gun, try the following specific gun-combo. At the beginning of the level, ensure that the Lancer Rifle and the Torque Bow are in your inventory. Collect the extra ammunition from the train car and enter the next area. When the intermission scene ends, proceed to the vault over the cement slab. Enter cover behind any of the cement blocks. You must hit Raam with the Torque Bow to drive off the Kryll. When they fly away, immediately switch to the Lancer Rifle to execute as many headshots as possible. This may require at least a clip of ammunition each time. When the Kryll regroup, reload the Lancer Rifle immediately, and switch to the Torque Bow. Depending on various timing-issues, Raam will advance to your location, requiring that you use the "switch cover" action to force Raam to adapt his path-finding. Whenever Raam's AI pauses to change direction, repeat the use of the Torque Bow/Lancer Rifle combination. This method may require at least five combos to defeat Raam. If you run out of Torque Bow arrows, the grenades may be used as a means of "scaring off" the Kryll.

There you go, if you were sucsessful anyway, you've beaten the big boss!! CONGRATS

dont wanna get chainsawed without using a pistol

Hint by StaticTempest on December 30, 2007  |  report this hint

well see its easier to use the lancer because it raises your chances of not getting kill by his other partner while if you try to beat him with pistol thier partner can shoot you and get you stunned and you know the rest

Move Faster.
To stay alive in this game you must but remember one thing. Bullets fly at you, move to where they ain't. Don't you HATE when it's so painfully obvious to everyone but you?

Take cover

Hint by atomicblaster on March 02, 2008  |  report this hint

Just remember this isn't Halo, you can't just run into a room guns blazing and expect to survive. Survey the room and find a good cover strategy, when in trouble lob some smoke.
