I have yet to become a master at this game but so far its given me a good experience. I always wanted to play this but I never got a chance. I always played Runescape which gave me a very fun filled time! I recommend it to everyone! One of my friends lured me into this game and I quickly fell in love. I still can't say its funner than my two previous MMO's (StarWars Galaxies and Runescape) but it is definitely a contender. The best part about the game is that it makes you feel important. When you run dungeons there is a need for 3 types of players. A tank,dps (basically just deals damage) and of course a healer. Without these most groups don't last very long. The entire game is based on Combat every single thing you do/make is for combat. All of the professions help you for combat in some way. Also this game is very easy it won't take 2 years to get max level not even a year. Max levels run around like the plague, they are more common than lower levels to be honest. This game will give you a wild ride. Not sure how long it will last though.

Don't Buy Gear

Each time you need to upgrade your gear, do instances for your level range to get better rather than trying to earn gold and buying gear.
